Factorytalk joined the global Tulip manufacturing community at Ops Calling 2026, held on 6–7 October in Boston, USA, and was honoured to receive the Trellis Award at the Tulip Groundbreaker Awards 2026.
This recognition marks three consecutive years of award-winning achievements within the Tulip ecosystem. Following our contributions to AstraZeneca’s 2024 and 2025 Tulip Greenhouse Award-winning initiatives, Factorytalk received the 2026 Trellis Award, recognising our continued commitment to customer success, innovation and long-term partnership.
As Tulip’s longest-serving life sciences partner, Factorytalk has spent eight years helping regulated manufacturers adopt and scale digital applications, from initial pilots to enterprise-wide deployments.
One example is our work with AstraZeneca, where Factorytalk has supported the global adoption of Tulip across manufacturing operations.
Key achievements include:
- 28 active production instances and more than 300 live solutions,
covering MES, Digital Changeover, Total Productive Maintenance, data integration, logbooks and other manufacturing applications.
- Digital Changeover rolled out to over 130 packaging lines in six months,
supported by scalable application design and citizen developers.
- Tulip Lifecycle Manager deployed across more than 14 countries,
enabling centralised governance, digital validation and automated traceability.
What we showcased at Ops Calling 2026
At our booth, we shared how manufacturers can go beyond individual digital applications to build connected, scalable operations that adapt to evolving business needs.
Design, build and validate high-value GxP solutions, tailored to your operations and built to evolve.
Factorytalk supports a wide range of life sciences manufacturing use cases, including EBR/eDHR, MES, digital logbooks, Labs/LIMS, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Digital Changeover.
Our discussions focused on three key areas:
Turning Manufacturing Challenges into Practical Solutions
From electronic batch records to shop-floor applications, we help manufacturers design and implement solutions that address operational challenges while supporting GxP requirements.
With hundreds of validated solutions delivered across more than 25 factories in 14 countries, our experience spans both targeted improvements and complex global programmes.
Scaling with Validation and Governance
Successful digitalisation requires more than developing applications. It also depends on how effectively they can be maintained, validated and deployed as operations grow.
Factorytalk’s tailored validation approach, Tulip Lifecycle Manager and proven governance frameworks help manufacturers manage application lifecycles, maintain traceability and establish consistent standards across sites.
Enabling Teams to Innovate Independently
Whether delivering turnkey projects or supporting citizen developers, we help organisations develop the internal capabilities needed for continuous improvement.
By combining reusable application frameworks, training and rollout strategies, manufacturers can extend their digital solutions while maintaining appropriate oversight and control.
Looking ahead: The next chapter of life sciences manufacturing
A key theme at Ops Calling 2026 was the growing potential of AI and composable technologies to transform manufacturing operations.
For life sciences manufacturers, this creates new opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen operational visibility and make better use of manufacturing data.
However, realising these benefits requires a foundation of reliable data, effective governance and risk-based validation.
Factorytalk is already exploring emerging capabilities, including Tulip Agents within regulated frameworks, as part of our ongoing commitment to helping customers adopt new technologies responsibly and effectively.
